Has Anyone Been On A Diet That Involves Eating Before A Certain Time?

i heard someone say about this diet where you can’t eat after 6pm, well maybe it’s not a diet just a clever choice? anyway i was just wondering if anyone’s tried it and been successful?

I could see that as a dieting technique if you are currently eating right before bed. Knowing that as you sleep you burn a lot less calories than then you are awake and moving. As far as the time I think its relative to the time that you go to bed. Eat at 6pm and sleep at 10pm ( 4 hours of digestion and active calorie burning) – Eat at 9pm and sleep at 10 pm (1 hour digestion and active calorie burning).

oh ya…not really a diet…you’re right, more like common sense really
try eating your last meal before 7 each night, because after you eat, you’re going to probably stay immoble (watch t.v., go straight to sleep) etc…so the earlier you eat, the more time the food has to digest completely.
When you’re sleeping, the calories don’t burn as fast.
also, if you get hungry later on, drink lots of water and light snackage, such as fruits
    EDIT:
    “…The Bottom Line
It is possible that, for some people, eating at night is associated with weight gain. Perhaps they find it easier to be careful about portion size and food choices during the day but simply “lose it” at day’s end. For some, the structure of three meals a day may make it easier to avoid excessive calorie intake.
But it’s probably a myth that eating before bed has a unique ability to promote weight gain compared with eating at other times of the day….”

um well i have never tried it but my doctor says it works well. I think its because after 6pm your body can’t burn any calories off. My doctor says it works good.

yea i have, it works. Especially if you’re alreay really overweight, if you’re only trying to lose bout 10 pounds it might not work as well.

    it’s not a diet… it’s a wise choice.
when you eat later in the night… you don’t get the chance to burn off the calories your intaking. also, if you don’t eat after a certain time it can also help with acid reflux.

My mom did it and she lost some weight (she’s not heavy to begin with, but she did lose a few pounds, which to her is a lot). You’re usually not suppose to eat at night (especially before you go to bed) cause that’s when you’ll gain a lot of weight.
