Would Eating Ramen Noodles While On A Diet Trying To Cut Out Calories Be Smart?

i’m trying to cut back on calories and lose a little bit of weight and I’ve been eating Ramen Noodles for lunch. I was wondering if those and soups are good things to eat while on a diet.

Not really but mostly because they are SUPER high in sodium. That’s not great to have – and just a side note – items with a lot of sodium, will of course make you more thirsty and high levels of sodium makes you retain water and will give you the feeling that you aren’t really losing weight when you are. Try a low sodium soup or try incorporating more veggies (raw or cooked) b/c most diets I’ve heard of that work all say you can have as many veggies as you want – no limit! So that might help you fill up – if you like salads, make a salad with anythign on it like: black olives, chicken, broccoli, peppers, hard boiled eggs (take out the yolk), sesame seeds, small amounts of cheese, corn, etc… any of those would be good and be sure to use a low fat/low cal dressing :)

Ramen is not a good choice at all.
Carbs are more dangerous than fat when it comes to losing weight and Ramen noodles are full of carbs. They’re also full of sodium which increases water retention and will not help with weight loss either.
Try to find something with more protein and less carbs and sodium.

    no, that’s not smart…
how about replacing those ramen noodles with an apple or something else vegetable or fruit.
    (fresh, not canned or frozen)
ramen is garbage… that’s not going to give you any minerals or vitamins.. you’ll be running on empty calories.

Soups, yes. Ramen noodles are way to high in sodium and have almost ZERO nutritional value. Try soups and salad. Something with the nutrients your body needs. Also sodium=water retention and that means you will actually weigh more.

NO! They are FILLED with sodium and carbohydrates(the bad kind)! They are horrible for you! Instead of those why don’t you try eating a salad or even some homemade soup?

Other kinds of soup is good but Ramen noodles are not. They have no nutritional value at all.
