I Eat Extra Meat At Mealtimes To Fill Myself Up. What’s The Best Way To Make Myself Eat A Balanced Diet?

I had weight loss surgery a long time ago and have since been eating only the things I really like instead of veggies. I do like many veggies, but I love meat. I know I’m not eating healthy. I’ve settled into an unhealthy way of eating. For dinner last night I had a steak (about 8oz.) and a baked potato with the works. This is a typical meal for me. I live alone and fresh vegetables (which I love) tend to spoil before I eat them, so I just don’t buy them anymore. Canned vegetables are too processed and just aren’t as appetizing. This behavior is habit now and I want to change it. I need some sort of motivation.

How about starting a meal with a big bowl of chopped fresh fruit? Or even try drinking a glass of water before you hit the dining table? Skimmed milk yogurt is a good protein source as a substitute to meat.

It’s okay to eat meat–no carbs–but the fat and cholesterol will catch up to you. I use frozen vegetables and to make sure that I get enough to fill me up I eat extra vegetables. No fat, low carbs, no fat. It’s a much healthier less expensive alternative that won’t pile the pounds back on plus you get vitamins and nutrients.

Fruits should be your best option. Pick a few fruits out that you love to eat and stock up on them. Whenever you get done eating a normal meal and still feel hungry, eat some fruits. It’s healthy and you won’t worry about putting on so much weight.
