What Do You Think Of My Healthy Eating / Diet Plan?

Basically put on a few pounds especially after the winter just gone with christmas, new yrs etc…and with a Girls holiday fast approaching end of May i wanted to eat healthier and shred a few pounds to get trim for hols! (Im also power walking every couple of days for half hr).
Im not looking to lose alot of weight so well known diets seemed a bit extreme for me and thought i’d go with my own, which i prefer and makes me happier!
Anyways, im having breakfast, lunch and dinner with no snacks in between other than fruit. Completely cut out chocolate, biscuits and cake :-)
For breakfast i have either:
Slice of wholemeal toast, light olive spread. Glass of juice.
Or
Bowl of crunchy nut with semi-skimmed milk
Lunch:
Wholemeal sandwich with either tuna/cheese/turkey/chicken + salad. Packet of crisp and a piece of fruit. Glass of juice.
Dinner:
Stick to meals i had before like:
Chicken curry & rice.
Pasta – with tomato based sauces rather than creamy ones now.
Chicken, potatoe & veg
Spagetti Bol
…..all the usual
(nothing fried though!)
What you all think? Healthy enough? I’ve lost 3 pounds last 2 weeks.
Also, another Q – if scrambled egg on wholemeal toast a good healthy lunch?

I think that everyone needs to find what works for them. You may want to find something you can stick to more long term, because it is healthier to take the weight off, and keep it off. If you are eating the same thing every day, it can get really boring really fast.
Great that you are power walking — that will really make a difference.
I would suggest that you eat more protein at breakfast to help you fill full. Perhaps the glass of juice can become a piece of whole fruit, like an orange, and a glass of milk goes great with an egg and toast.
I would also suggest that you eat five times a day, with smaller portions at meals. It will keep your blood sugar level and help you to not be too hungry at meal times. If you are eating five times day, you will need to watch your portion size, You can “measure” the right amount of food by using your hand. A serving is the size of your fist, and an ounce of something such as cheese, is approximately the size of your thumb.
    Here’s some healthy snack ideas:
    1. An ounce of cheese or cheese stick
    2. Power Bar — I prefer Clif Luna bars
    3. Yogurt– Plain with a teaspoon of fruit spread
    4. Yogurt parfait with fresh fruit
    5. Hard boiled egg
    6. Carrots and hummus
    7. Red, yellow, orange bell peppers with hummus
    8. Sugar snap peas with hummus
    9. Cottage cheese and apples
    10. Peanut butter and celery
    11. Peanut butter and crackers
    12. Peanut butter on a banana
    13. Cashew butter on crackers with fruit
    14. Trail mix with almonds, raisins, dried apricots, cereal
    15. Glass of Milk
    16. Whole Almonds
    17. Fruit smoothie
    18. Piece of whole fruit
    19. “Baked” cinnamon apples — put sliced apples in the microwave for 2 minutes until soft. Top with cinnamon.
    20. Frozen (no sugar added) fruit
    21. Frozen fruit popsicles
    22. Dried apricots with whole shelled walnuts
    23. Edamame beans
    24. Meat roll (turkey, ham, lean roast beef) spread with light cream cheese and shredded carrots
    25. Bowl of cereal and milk
    26. Bag of cereal for on-the-go
    27. Crunchy peanut butter on apple slices
Hope that helps and have fun on your Girls’ holiday!

Egg is very high in cholesterol… so avoid it.
I’d avoid curry, high sugar and fat content.
Drink as much water as you can, this will help you lose weight.
It’s realativly good, try to stick to 1000 cals for the most noticable results without lack of energy.
    Good luck! x x x

yes egg on toast is fine
potatoes and anything dough based (bread etc) is not the best to eat often if your trying to loose weight (too much carbs)

    Its really good what your doing so far but heres a couple of tips to make it more effective;
Switch to skimmed milk instead of semi-skimmed, tastes the same, less fatty
Try poached egg instead of scrambled- healthier
For lunch try soup as it really feels you up and is unlikey to have more than 300 calories.
Also, drink either mint tea (good for digestive system) or green tea (full of anti-oxidants) to help and snacking on almond nuts help metabolism aswell as being very good for the skin!!
Try doing squats and sit ups every day too
    Good luck!

To lose weight I wouldn’t drink much juice because it spikes insulin. Or, I would only drink it in the morning. I would cut more carbs in the evening which would mean not so much rice or potatoes. Last, don’t call it a diet. Just eat and have a healthy lifestyle. You won’t get burned out that way. Change up menus and have a cheat day. There is no way I couldn’t eat my favorite pizza every Sunday evening. I would go crazy. Moderation, moderation, moderation.
