Is Eating A Balanced Diet Essential For Losing Weight, Or Just To Keep Your Heart Healthy?

In weight watchers, I am supposed to have 2 tsp of olive oil a day. Also, I need to have 2 servings of dairy a day. Will I not lose as much weight if I ignore these rules?
Are these rules geared to losing weight, or to keeping a healthy heart?

I think balanced diet is just for keeping your body going into right way, it does help you in losing weight only if you do excercise daily. i.e. running 2-4 km’s atleast.

I hear weight watcher is an excellent way to lose weight. I would just keep up with what they are having you do. I know lots of women who have lost to their goal weight on WW.
